PROFESSOR ATSUSHI TAKENAKA

Professor of Urology and Chairman, Tottori University Faculty of Medicine Yonago, Japan

Professor Atsushi Takenaka graduated in medicine from Yamaguchi University in 1986. He received his master's degree and PhD in Urology from Kobe Medical School.

He has been a professor and chairman of the Tottori University Faculty of Medicine since 2010.

Professor Atsushi Takenaka is also vice chief director of the Japan Association of Endourological and Robotics since 2020.

Professor Atsushi Takaneka has extensive expertise in prostatectomy, nephrectomy, chemotherapy, sex hormones, and the prevention and treatment of erectile dysfunction.

Professor Takenaka has experience in minimally invasive surgical techniques, using robot support (da Vinci system and the latest model Hugo RAS robot system) in urological surgery.

Professor Atsushi Takenaka has received many awards, including: Cancer Research Award from Hyogo Foundation for Health (2001); Best Paper in Prostate Cancer Surgery from European Urology (2005, 2007); and 17th JUA Award -clinical section in 2010.
